Yesterday I decided to revisit one of my small paintings by painting it again! I really enjoy doing this because I’m always more comfortable the second time around and able to address my subject in a more relaxed way! But, of course, this is true for most endeavors we choose to tackle. I’ll often repeat a scene several times from different vantage points which allows me to feel very acquainted and personal with it. The simple geometric lines of the farm architecture is what initially attracted me and I wanted to try taking this same kind of simplicity to a painting. I’m starting to feel like this 12×16 study, now painted twice, will be one I could confidently paint again in a much larger format! If I do I’ll be sure to share my results with you here on my Facebook Page!
