Two of my latest paintings were chosen for inclusion into the 43rd Watercolor West International Exhibition in Brea, California and the 32nd Pennsylvania Watercolor Society International Exhibition in West Chester, PA.

Cambria California Farm Inspires New Painting

In 2008 we traveled down the Pacific Coast Highway visiting many coastal villages along the way. In Cambria, California we took a drive out Santa Rosa Creek Road where I found this lovely old farm sitting before a vineyard. I’ve included some images of the work in progress and hope you will enjoy my interpretation of the scene…..

Painting Chosen for Magazine Cover

Just found out and I’m thrilled! My painting Out Santa Rosa Creek Road will be on the cover of the April/May 2011 issue of Watercolor Artist Magazine. There will also be a full length feature story about my work inside. Watercolor Workshop at Star Harbor

Two day spent with the Star Harbor Watercolor Group demonstrating and teaching my watercolor technique was so much fun! How great for me to be able to spend those days with such a dynamic and enthusiastic group painting and sharing a mutual love of watercolor painting. A wonderful lunch was provided each day and a golf cart and access to the golf course, which was just across the street, was even made available to my husband who always comes along to help me with the many details of setting up my workshop. I’ve included a scene from the workshop and the watercolor painting I demonstrated the first day. Out Santa Rosa Creek Road 22x30 Original Watercolor Painting

Last year we spent a couple of months traveling down the Pacific Coast Highway and stopped to spend time in Cambria, California. While there we decided to take a drive out Santa Rosa Creek Road to visit a farm heard about, and I’m glad we did. The landscape was unforgettable and I had time to sketch and take photos for later paintings. I just completed this large 22×30″ original watercolor painting using a small study done earlier in preparation for this larger work. I hope I have captured the peacefulness of that old country road.

Cambria, California Countryside Study

We spent a couple of days in Cambria, California and it’s an artist’s dream. The town is quaint and the countryside is idyllic with rolling hills, farms and vineyards.
